Our vision is to bring hope to the disadvantaged and those in need by empowering them to live healthy, positive lives through genuine relationships and supportive community. We believe that it is important to care for the whole person physically, emotionally and spiritually.

The Acorn Foundation is in no way linked to the now infamous group called ACORN. The Acorn Foundation provides an avenue where people from all walks of life can be involved in contributing to the welfare of our community by supporting and caring for the less fortunate.

The Acorn Foundation seeks to provide help, hope and healing to individuals without discrimination; restoring broken lives, one at a time. Learn more about the acorn foundation at www.acornfoundation.org.

The Community Table

One of the primary avenues the Acorn Foundation serves the disadvantaged in Portsmouth is at the Community Table. Since 2004, members of the church have been going to the streets for a meal with the homeless and hurting once every week. We don't give a hand out; we have a meal together. We find out about each other's lives and look for different ways we can grow and learn about each other in community. We sit and talk, sometimes for hours. Our goal is to empower those in need to succeed and we see relationship as the best vehicle towards that end. We have seen a number get back on their feet through the relationship building that goes on at the Community Table.
